Brief
Francisco Marco-Serrano has a degree on Economics for the ‘Universitat de València’ (Valencia, Spain), a ‘Diploma d’Estudis Avançats’ (Advanced Studies Diploma, equivalent to a MA) in Economic Analysis (postgraduate program that includes 210h of theoretical contents plus a dissertation) for the ‘Departament d’Anàlisi Econòmica’ (Economics Department) of the same university, and a Post-graduation in Operations Management for the ‘Universitat Oberta de Catalunya’ (Barcelona, Spain).
He has devoted the second half of his academic life to analyse the culture from the point of view of the economics, as known as cultural economics. For more than five years he has been collaborating with the ‘Unitat de Investigació en Economia de la Cultura’ (Cultural Economics Research Unit) of the ‘Departament d’Economia Aplicada’ (Applied Economics Department).
His interests are the analysis of the processes (conventional or non-conventional ones). The subject of the dissertation was related to the analysis of the efficiency of a theatrical performance (see next section for details), although nowadays he is into logistics, operations research, talent management and Corporate Social Responsibility.
In the last year he has been lecturing in the ‘Universitat de València’ ’s Business Administration Department and ‘Universitat Jaume I’ ’s Economics Department.
