Lecturing OR

I have to admit I never though I would be lecturing an operations research related subject. However, it is with great pleasure that last term I was able to lecture Econometrics with computer assistance (we used Gretl, which is open source) to undergraduate level. This term I have started to lecture 'Total Quality Management 'to Masters level, with a 50% of the syllabus being statistically-oriented, and Decision-Making Tools. Taking these last events into account, I felt so brave I'm proposing a course addressed to business managers, controllers, and analysts, where I would show them how to use the spreadsheet (every company has them installed and their users are fairly used to them) for optimising their value chains (reporting, production planning, procurement, employee scheduling, etc). I'm quite interested in explaining the spreadsheet is not only for preparing tables and boring reports, or keeping inefficient databases…

However, I think I'm too eager for statistics and maths, and their application to business, at least further than my pupils. May the force be with me!.
