Babies & Operations Resarch

I always try to apply OR to my day to day activities, which has sometimes caused me to appear like a freak when you try to explain to people actually OR is all around. However, it was when I explained a colleague I was trying to apply total quality management (TQM) techniques to baby caring that I got the loudest laugh. No matter! I have written about thermodynamics and baby caring, and from Laura's 'Punk Rock Operations Research' blog you can read a extensive list of OR applications to having a baby and to parenthood. Even further, from my last TQM course I gathered an example of how a couple used Deming's PDSA cycle to get the best process in order to avoid their baby crying too much while diaper changes. Not bad, isn't it?
